What happened to Kenya Airways Dominance

Kenya Airways was once a dominant airline in Africa. The stage was set for it to become the biggest airline in Africa. That title belongs to Ethiopian now. What happened to Kenya Airways dominance?
FAITH MISSION UK : I am very proud of KQ. My flights with KQ have always been pleasant and the service standards are world-class having flown with other reputable airlines. I pray that KQ will hire good management to run its affairs who have a heart to see it one day the leader in Africa's Aviation Industry free from political interference. Let's believe and keep hope alive that KQ will fly through these turbulent storms coming out stronger as " The Pride of Africa".
Carsten Steenvinkel : I had the pleasure of traveling with Kenyan Airways, and believe that the service received was 2nd to none. The staff was very polite and attentive. For Kenya Airways I hope and pray it once again will become the 'Pride of Africa'.
Agotech : I have flown Kenya Airways of late, even with female captains. The standard of service was just as good as Lufthansa, KLM, Air Italy, Egypt Air, Emirates and British Airways. The problem I think is that Kenya Airways mixes European Management with African Management that evolved in Kenya. This brings people together who don't have a common footing. The European becomes isolated as the rest of Kenyans pursue their own ways. Kenya Airways should include a third group to act as interface. This third group should be Kenyan engineers who studied and lived in Europe for many years. They do not need to be aeronautics engineers; mechanical-, electrical- and electronics engineers can blend in quickly by studying manuals and specifications. This third group features Kenyan culture, European commitment and international technical exposure. It will as such allow the European team to work better with the Kenyan team. Once a person has lived outside the country for many years, he/she quickly identifies things going wrong before they become irreparably wrong. One can convince the rest that it is about serving your country to the best of one's ability but not to get rich quickly, e.g. by dismantling and selling aircraft parts. I saw a video that informed that Kenyans help service foreign planes. That there are Kenyans seconded to Malawi, Congo, and Botswana etc. This should not be the case. Such engineers are therefore missing in Kenya, thus being paid by KQ, but working on foreign aircraft. The payment of their services give room for corruption as there is no guarantee that the earnings land in KQs account. Moreover, this could facilitate spare parts and dismantled plane parts being sold to foreign country airlines at the expense of KQ. These sorts of things make a European CEO withdraw because he first becomes sidelined, and by the time he realizes, why he was sidelined, it is too late.
